So, this is Outback Steak House. You know Outback Steak House. You know all about their Coconut Shrimp (hey, I like it,) Chicken on the Barbie and the Bloomin Onion. You don't need me to tell you about it. The reason I'm writing this review is because of this restaurant's customer service. It's set up smack dab in the middle of Overland Park and can get busy real quick. Even though we had to wait for a little bit for a table everybody was cheery and in a good mood. Our server was super attentive and made sure everything came out correctly, kept our drinks full and was in a good mood. At the end of the meal we had some problems with a Gift Card. The problems weren't Outback's fault, but they bent over backwards to make the situation right and even had a manager come over (unsolicited) to talk to us about what was happening. So, even though the gift card wouldn't work Outback still gave all of us at the table cards for a free appetizer for our next visit. This was above and beyond what was warranted. I know you know what you like at Outback, but if you need to pick an Outback in the Kansas City area, this one will take care of you.

I have eaten here a total of 5x over the past few years. Each time the service was horrible. No greeting within a reasonable amount of time. Drinks not refilled, wrong drinks, wrong food, burnt food. The only reason i returned so many times is because each time they gave out a gift card valid towards next visit. I did however enjoy the sampler app with the ahi tuna.

My husband and I came here for Father's Day. Is he my father? No. Where were the teens? Church camp. Was it sort of a celebration? Yes - for Father's day and kid-free week (we love you, kids, if you ever read this). Why did we pick Outback, you no-chain snobs ask? Well, we had a $50 gift card from Christmas, of course. When we got there at 7:00 pm, we were shocked at how crowded it was. 35 minute wait. I know, Father's Day. We decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited. When we sat down we just decided to eat at the bar. It's my favorite place to eat in a restaurant with just a couple of people. Additionally, at least at this Outback, you get a free appetizer if you decide to eat at the bar after getting a pager. Yay! Free food! So, we ordered a couple of drinks - $3 well drink for hubby and I got some peach frozen conconction. Both were fine. We ordered the grilled shrimp appetizer and it came out quickly. I ordered the petite filet - 6 oz ($18) with the blue cheese "crust" and hubby had the t-bone ($25). They both came with a salad and a baked potato. As you can tell, this place is not cheap, but the steaks are good, they were cooked as ordered (medium-rare) and the baked potatoes were a nice size. They were a bit dry, but we could have asked for more butter if we really wanted it. The salads took a while to be delivered (the bartender had to go check on them at our request) but they were fine once we received them. The blue cheese "crust" was a little weird. It was really a crust. I took most of it off, as I am used to crumbles. Hubby put the remaining on his baked potato. So, the best part of our experience was the bartenders. I can't think of the gal's name now (she had a blond sort of shaved haircut), but she was very personable and fun. Would I come back? Maybe. They do have coupons for $10 off periodically. It seemed kind of pricey for a chain, plus my husband can grill a mean steak, but if I came back to an Outback, it would definitely be this one and I would sit at the bar again. Great service there.

We had dinner at one of steady chains tonight . The ribeye was great and we love their green beans. But the prime rib sandwich was not up to par. The manager did the right thing and removed it from the bill and gave my wife a lovely piece of cheese cake. I remain a fan of this group as they have consistancy in quality dining. The group is a three way marketing corporate success (outback/bonefishand carrabbas)

Well, once again some so so reviews...I went with a friend and had a great time. The serve, Jena was helpful, as was the manager that came to check on us. Waitress was attentive. I had the Beef Fracaccia sandwich--which is like a french dip. Add some Stella Artois beer and the dining was complete. We were both too full for dessert, and before we ordered we knew that an appetizer would fill us up. The food looked quite artistically prepared and the taste was very good. Not too salty, not too sweet, not too much garlic....and I love garlic. Once again, the waitress was quite helpful--and was fun to chat with. The food exceeded my expectations--yes I would recommend.

I really wish I could give this place 5 Stars. I really do. The hostess was very pleasant, the floor was sparkling clean and she was cleaning when we arrived. The waitress said she was new but she was trying so hard to do a great job...and did. The manager stopped by and introduced himself telling us he appreciated our business. It's obvious he's doing a great job managing this restaurant. When we left a young man opened the door (he was cleaning the glass) and thanked us again. These employees have truly been taught how to treat the customers. They get 10 Stars for that!!!! Now...the food. The salad dressing was far too salty. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like they had been frozen or left over from the day before. The prime rib was tender but severely lacked flavor. I had not been to Outback in many years but decided to try it again when they did their national free meal coupon campaign. The coupon was great. We were able to use two coupons by asking for separate checks (thanks to the waitress giving us that information) and we could upgrade to something other than the coupon offering. All of their marketing worked to get me in the door but the food disappointed. A restaurant keeps me coming back for the quality of their food. Outback...please do something fast to make your food tasty!
